Money Master Holiday Workshop: Teaching Kids Financial Literacy Through Real-Life Experiences

On December 14th, 2025, we proudly hosted our first-ever Money Master 2025 Holiday Workshop in Bangna, Bangkok, Thailand — a hands-on financial literacy and entrepreneurship workshop for children designed to teach real-life money skills in a fun, age-appropriate way.

This once-a-year holiday program focused on helping kids understand saving, spending, budgeting, goal-setting, and earning money through interactive activities, games, and real-world scenarios. Created for families looking for meaningful holiday workshops for kids in Thailand, the Money Master Holiday Workshop goes beyond theory, empowering children with practical money habits and confidence they can use in everyday life.

What Made the Money Master Holiday Workshop Special?

This holiday workshop combined financial education, entrepreneurship, creativity, and celebration, giving children the opportunity to learn by doing—something especially important when teaching money skills at a young age.

Inside the Workshop: What the Kids Learned

1. My Money Goals for 2026

Children started the workshop by learning how to set SMART money goals—goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-based.

To make this concept easy and memorable, we introduced the iceberg analogy. Kids learned that a goal is only the small part you see above the surface, while the real work—habits, effort, and consistency—happens beneath the surface.
This helped children understand that success doesn’t happen overnight and that progress comes from small, steady actions.

2. Save, Spend, Share Game

Next, kids explored why dividing money into different purposes is such an important habit.

Through an active game involving tossing balls onto a Velcro target, children practiced allocating money into Save, Spend, and Share categories. This activity turned money management into something energetic and fun, reinforcing the idea that learning about money doesn’t have to feel serious or stressful.

3. Design Your Dream Shop

In this creative entrepreneurship activity, kids designed their own custom holiday advent calendar.

They planned 9 days of simple tasks to complete at home leading up to Christmas. By completing these tasks, children earned a surprise box on Christmas morning, helping them connect effort, responsibility, and reward in a very tangible way.

This activity introduced early business thinking and showed kids how ideas can turn into action—and value.

4. Holiday Market Challenge

Children were divided into groups and given their own budget and shopping list.

They explored prices, tracked expenses, and totaled their spending to practice real budgeting skills. Along the way, kids were presented with different real-world scenarios, encouraging them to adapt, problem-solve, and make thoughtful financial decisions when plans changed.

5. Cookie Decorating Time

Before decorating, kids had to use their own money to buy sugar cookies and decorations.

This simple but powerful activity helped children understand that even fun experiences come with costs—and that mindful spending is part of everyday life. It reinforced money awareness in a joyful, hands-on way.

6. Gift Exchange & Celebration

The workshop ended with a warm celebration where children received their certificates and their long-awaited surprise boxes.

This moment recognized their effort, learning, and growth throughout the day—building pride and confidence in what they had achieved.
